A Portable Water Filter

Cclean drinking water with lifestraw filterlean drinking water is taken for granted in many places around the world. The reality; one billion plus humans are living without potable water.

What would you do if you woke up one day and your access to clean drinking water was gone?

We have 3 portable, microbiological water filters. They are called LifeStraws. We have one for each of us in the family. That means we can access clean drinking water anytime and anywhere. We can even drink dirty water from the streets if we need to.

Great for disaster and emergency situations where clean is scarce, it is the most important tool in our earthquake preparedness kit.

I consider this invention to be one of the most important of our time.

pool therapy works

Recovery and health issues I’ll be dealing with when we relocate include an incident in May of 2011; I had a motor scooter accident and was very badly injured. I shattered my right femur.

I had a second surgery in May 2012 where the rod and screws were replaced by a plate along the outside of my femur that will stay there forever. At this point I’m putting almost 50% weight-bearing on the leg. My goal is to be able to walk without a limp by the time we leave September 30.

I have been in rehabilitation to help me relearn to walk and pool therapy since June of 2011 when they brought me into the pool in a wheelchair. Pool therapy with Ryan, Jay, Jen and Rosie at Lifemark has been an instrumental part in my recovery - Pool Therapy is Great Rehabilitation is my story.

I have another major health issue I’ll be dealing with in Ecuador, that post can be found here.

Many people have asked about my health issues and preparing to relocate to Ecuador. Four days after returning from working the 2010 Olympics I became sick, really sick – this is the story of the beginning of my health issues.

My colostomy was reversed 10 months after receiving it, and I haven’t had an bowel obstruction since the 2 year mark of when it all began, so I am cautiously confident that I am on a healing path.

It is also the reason we need to locate within a one hour drive of a major hospital when we relocate to Ecuador …

While I was in the process of mending from my intestines being drastically altered I had an accident and am recovering from it …
