A Portable Water Filter

Cclean drinking water with lifestraw filterlean drinking water is taken for granted in many places around the world. The reality; one billion plus humans are living without potable water.

What would you do if you woke up one day and your access to clean drinking water was gone?

We have 3 portable, microbiological water filters. They are called LifeStraws. We have one for each of us in the family. That means we can access clean drinking water anytime and anywhere. We can even drink dirty water from the streets if we need to.

Great for disaster and emergency situations where clean is scarce, it is the most important tool in our earthquake preparedness kit.

I consider this invention to be one of the most important of our time.

Clean Drinking Water Instantly

This is a product that can change the world.

The “LifeStraw” was created by Mikkel Vestergaard Frandsen.

It cleans dirty water so it becomes drinkable immediately.

How does it work?

“By filtering particles of approx 0.2 microns it removes up to 99.9999 percent of waterborne bacteria and up to 99.9 percent of waterborne protozoan cysts.”

English translation – the filters are so small and specific that they catch almost all bacteria and protozoans that live in water, thus making the water safe to drink.

*Please note: the Lifestraw filters out specifically protozoa and bacteria. It does not filter metals, chemicals or salt.

Easy to Use

Easy to use just “place your LifeStraw in water and sip through the mouthpiece”. This water can come from anywhere you can find it.

Cleaning is just as easy; simply blow through the filter and it will prevent it from clogging.

For 1st and 3rd World Problems

I believe everyone should have one.

Water has become such a sought after commodity that corporations are scooping up ownership. Water, which we all took for granted, has become something communities are fighting for – water rights.

Water rights are being fought for all over the world.

First world countries are scrambling for ownership of the water; it’s all about money.

Third world countries are fighting for access to clean drinking water; it is about survival.

The LifeStraw is an invaluable solution for 3rd world problems and a great resource for 1st world ones.

Today the water filters are available in a variety of sizes. These new products can supply clean drinking water to families and even large communities.

  • pocket size = 1,000L of clean drinking water
  • drinking bottle = 6,000L of clean drinking water
  • family of 5 size = 18,000L 3yrs of clean drinking water
  • community size = 70,000 -100,000L  several years of clean drinking water

These water filters have an incredibly long life. That makes them even more valuable.

Clean Drinking Water for Communitiesclean drinking water for community

LifeStraw has a fabulous community program that needs to be mentioned.

“For each consumer purchase, one school child in Africa will receive clean water for an entire school year.”

The policy supports their reason for creating this water filter. To supply access to clean drinking water for everyone.

I love the company’s commitment to the world.
This policy helps share their wealth with communities that need help with that access.

Take a moment to watch as Michael Pritchard demonstrates the effectiveness and discusses the LifeStraw during his 2009 TED talk. He explains it best.
